Valeria’s story
Valeria’s love for the lost-wax technique jewellery was born from an emotion: when, thanks to the skill of a goldsmith, the most beautiful moment of her life, the birth of her baby girl, was “given back” to her in a ring.
Valeria trained in her family jewellery shop, founded by her grandfather Icilio Boncompagni in the 1920s in the heart of Piazza San Marco. Here you can admire jewellery creations of the most important international brands.
And here, Valeria personalised jewellery for customers, creating new shapes, listening, observing, and changing the rules, until she opened a space of her own, named Valeria.

Lost-wax
Lost-wax casting is a millenary technique used by the Greeks, the Romans, the Etruscans, which consists in creating a wax object to be inserted into a mould. The wax then is melted leaving the space to cast the metal and reproduce the object.
While creating the jewel the wax remains malleable, so that it can be shaped, the grooves can be deepened, the interlacing can be created and actual miniature sculptures rich in details can be made.
Valeria’s commitment is also fulfilled through her didactic work with children and young people: in fact, Valeria teaches the lost-wax technique to the students in different schools in Venice.
It is such an important choice that brings them closer to craftsmanship, working with wax helps the children to listen to their own soul and give shape to their emotions.
With her openness towards people Valeria brings her art to cultural events: to communicate value, passion, love and trust. So people can open up, indulge, listen to each other, and create jewels that stop time.
Jewelry Experience
Valeria Boncompagni hosts workshops dedicated to the creation of jewellery, using the lost-wax technique.
These are private lessons, for children (from the age of 10) and adults, to make your own jewellery by learning how to model the wax together with Valeria.
Participants’ ideas, desires and emotions are transformed into a creative experience, right here in the heart of Venice, next to St. Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace.
Once the work is done, the wax will be melted, and in a short time you will have your jewel.
